A little peek…

shabby chic end table

This morning I just wanted to share with you a few of the painting projects Joe and I have worked on together.  After he had his stint put in August of 2013, he had to quit his construction job, and he and I started buying furniture off of kijiji, painting it, and reselling it.  What a blessing to be able to work together and from home.  🙂  God is so good!

We got these night stands/end tables for free…yes, free, folks!!

(Do I meet the requirements for ugly “before” pictures?

Oh good! 😉 )

Pretty “dated” huh?  But with a few fresh coats of homemade chalk paint, a little distressing and some wax to finish them off…oh yeah!!!   Since our funds were pretty tight, with Joe not working, we didn’t buy new hardware for these girls – we just painted over them.  I think they turned out pretty sweet, don’t you?

And I have to admit, I love the “staging” part of our projects more than anything.  So much fun!!  I love it!  My fingers start tingling just thinking about it!  Yep…I love it!  (or did I already say that??)

I’m not sure where the “before” picture is of this beauty…but here’s the “after.”  :O)

A nice, solid sofa/hall table, with a lot of beautiful detail.  So lovely!

And now for my favourite…I don’t know what it was about this sweet little “mail table” – maybe the uniqueness and the cute little cubbies? – but OH how I wanted to keep her!!  Sigh.

Here she is “before” –

(Does anyone else out there forget to take a before picture until you’ve already started??  I do it almost every time!  grrr!)

And now for the “after” – are you ready for this??

Isn’t she sweet???!!!

Again, the staging was soooo much fun for this little lady.  I used the stack of letters I received from my son when he was in bootcamp (now that is total sweetness, if I ever saw it!), and a couple of old, old picture postcards – over 100 years old! – that we found in an apartment my girls and I were cleaning (we were suppose to discard everything!!  Whaaa?!  Those babies came home with us…oh yes they did!), and you can’t beat two Ball jars, full of vintage buttons and string, now can you?

That’s it for today, my friends.  Its a beautiful day and Joe and I are going to head into town and enjoy it together.  Hope you all have a great day!

Hugs, Mitzi
